We seem to have an abundance of hoglets this year! Managed to get some photos as they trotted down the road! (whilst stopping the traffic to make sure they made it across safely)
Sometimes I just go for a walk on this beautiful island, not looking for anything in particular, but nature always delivers. Hummingbird Moth, wild orchid, moor cotton and Peacock butterfly moths,
Bees are known for their crucial role in pollination and honey production.There are over 20,000 known species of bees, here are only a few I found on my walk out today.
Only aware of one other sighting of Spotted Flycatchers on Bute this year and very few sightings over previous years so really thrilled to be invited to friends garden to photograph them when they nested there.
Enjoyed watching these Goosanders, about 18 of them, came ashore right in front of the hide. Their webbed feet positioned far back on their body, and a sharp, slender bill helps when catching fish underwater.
Apparently there are around 59 species of butterflies that are regularly seen in the UK. Here are two of what I believe are the most beautiful seen here on Bute. The common Blues are my favourite.
