Little Blackcap looking splendid for the mating season. Normally very illusive little birds he just peaked out for a few seconds, long enough to get a quick shot.

“Smile for the camera”…. only managed one shot of this beautiful bird and then it was gone. Taken a couple of years ago but never seen one so close to shore since.

After flying about, stopping at various places near the hide it finally landed right in front, just for a few minutes but long enough to get a shot. Such elegant birds.

Waxwings

A bit of journey up to Ardrishaig, but well worth it to get the waxwings. I cannot believe how they can clear a tree of berries so quickly. They are comical though, they will hang on to anything just reach the berries, even upside down.
