Was out an early morning walk and spotted this beautiful creature. A Water-dropwort brown moth caterpillar. They are tiny.

Sometimes I have no idea what I’m looking for, then you spot something. On Sunday it was spiders, a female Wolf Spider with a full egg sac and a lot of Green orb spiders, aren’t they just so cute!

More from my day trip to Leighton Moss. 2 of 3 Marsh Harriers across the water from the hide. A Great Crested Grebe about to dive, a Gadwall feeding and lastly a poor photo of a Bittern in flight (ID shot) This is a very secretive bird that most bird watchers can spend decades and never see. There were 3 high up in the sky that morning, Amazing!

A couple from a day trip to RSPB to Leighton Moss. A wet and windy day but still lots to see, definitely need to go back. This poor Cormorant was trying to dry it’s wings, they have less oil on their feathers making them less waterproof. 

First visit to Marten Mere reserve, what an amazing place. The weather wasn’t great but still managed to get some photos of the ducklings. Shelduck duckling and lots of Shelduck adults about, Black headed Gulls  by the hundreds lots of chicks too  and a lovely little Mallard Family.

From a walk the other day. The ferns are so tall now they are bringing their hitchhikers to almost eye level. 

Watching butterflies and dragonflies flit about is natures perfect stress-reliever. Large Red dragonflies and the amazing Painted Lady butterfly which has just flown all the from Africa! 

Sometimes you’ve no idea what you’ll see when you head out. Yesterday it was a lovely Orange tip butterfly feeding on the Bluebell nectar. But noticed next to it were two Snout Flies, a kind of Hover fly, also enjoying the nectar. How weird are they with their long snouts!
